Proactive

Feed bag — It makes perfect sense, in a circular sort of way. Fill your belly with a fine spaghetti feast and, in the process, help those who have neither roof overhead nor table to lay their vittles on. We’re talking about the Macomb Homeless Coalition’s 15th annual spaghetti dinner to aid that county’s homeless folk. It takes place 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday, March 13, at Zuccarro’s Holiday House, 20400 S. Nunneley Rd. (just south of 16 Mile Road and east of Groesbeck) in Clinton Township. Cost is $7, with kids under 6 eating for free. Call 586-783-0916.

Kickass kickoff — Our pal John George at the group Motor City Blight Busters — one of the city’s truly ass-kicking nonprofit groups — wants the word to go out to one and all: Give us the good, the bad or the truly ugly. He’s talking houses. Dilapidated eyesores that are a blight on neighborhoods. George’s goal is to either rehab or demolish 40 such homes before Super Bowl XL kicks off in Detroit next year. The homes can come from individuals, corporations, the city, county or state. George doesn’t care. Just as long as he can turn problem housing into proper homes, he’ll be happy. And what’s truly cool is people can follow the whole process from start to finish on the Web at 40by40.com. So far the score is 1 house obtained, 39 needed. Go, team, go! Call 313-255-4355.
