It's here. It's finally here. The first 4/20 since Michigan gave the green light to recreational legalization. Now, while it may still technically be illegal to consume marijuana in public (boo hiss!) that doesn't mean you can't celebrate the occasion at some of these metro Detroit weederies.

ElevatedYogi

If you haven't fucked with ElevatedYogi yet, you're making a nama-stake. In cooperation with the Cannabis Counsel, ElevatedYogi hosts daily yoga with a pre-stretch smoke sesh. For their 4/20 bash, the studio will offer a high noon yoga session and each ticket includes yoga, access to a vegan-friendly taco bar, desserts, sound therapy vendors, tabletop games, and live music. The event starts at 11:30 and will run until 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here

Utopia Gardens

Starting at 10 a.m., Utopia Gardens will host live music by Chris Koltay, the GO Rounds, and Detroit Retro Society, as well as arcade games, yard games, and local business vendors. Cheesy munchies will be served up via Mac Shack's food truck.

8 Degrees Plato Detroit
3409 Cass Ave., Detroit; 313-888-9972; 8degreesplato.com/detroit
Did you know that you could vape hops? Well, you can. And Midtown's 8 Degrees Plato is hosting a 4/20 brew bash. Stoner brewers Lagunitas Brewing Co. and Little Sumpin' Sumpin' will be pouring their 4/20 brew, and there will be a Volcano on site to vape hops. While there are no effects when vaping hops, the process allows full-blown and bold flavors to surface that might not otherwise be present in the beer itself. To really bring the stoner-energy home, 8 Degrees will offer a candy stand and cereal bar.

Greenstone Provisions
338 S. Ashley St., Ann Arbor; 734-773-3075; greenstoneprovisions.com
Patients can roll up to Greenstone Provisions in Ann Arbor and expect a store-wide discount (which runs until Sunday, April 21) as well as various freebies with donations.

Grey Area

Part vintage shop, part art gallery, part aura photography studio, Grey Area is embracing 4/20 with a group exhibition, "Plants Make People Happy," which explores personal relationships with various plants through various mediums. Illustrations, paintings, photography, and ceramics by local artists Venessa Ilene, Debbie Carlos, Lindsay Farris, Eileen Lee, and Ash Nowak will be on display and available for purchase (cash and carry). To really celebrate the weed holiday and wellness, there will be a limited quantity of hemp-derived CBD nonalcoholic beverages as well as food, both served on a first come, first served basis.

6800 E. Soaring Eagle Blvd., Mt. Pleasant; 888-732-4537; 420cannaexpo.com; Event is free and open to the public.
The term "trade show" sounds pretty damn boring. Add a sprinkling of weed knowledge and know-how, and you have the 420 CannaExpo. Starting at 10 a.m., the massive trade show will feature 60 exhibitors, as well as presentations spanning business, cultivation, and medical uses. The main floor will host exhibits spotlighting the industry's latest products and services, as well as uses of medical cannabis, CBD, and industrial hemp uses.
