MOUNT CLEMENS, MI  --  The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office today named four people in connection with the Metro Villa apartment complex explosion in Harrison Township this past March.

Prosecutor Eric Smith and Sheriff Anthony Wickersham will charge Ryan Cameron, 19, with Manufacturing Marijuana, a 4-year felony; Maintaining a Drug House, a 2-year felony, and Felony Firearm, a 2-year consecutive felony.

Gabriel Tononi, 23, will be charged with Manufacturing Marijuana, a 4-year felony.

Evan Cameron, 22, and Devon Kuttner, 21, will be charged with Disorderly Conduct:  loitering in a place of illegal occupation, a 90-day misdemeanor.

On March 24, 2013, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a massive explosion centered in #115 of the Metro Villa Apartments.  Nine apartment units were damaged in the blast.

Tononi, Kuttner, and Ryan Cameron were treated for burns at Detroit Receiving Hospital.

Upon investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies discovered what they believe to be a crude drug refining operation that utilized containers of butane and propane to extract oil of hashish from marijuana leaves.  Officers also discovered a shotgun and an assault rifle, with ammunition.

“These people put lives at risk to manufacture drugs,” Eric Smith said.  “It won’t be tolerated.”

The four suspects will be arraigned in 41B District Court, Clinton Township.
