City Slang: Glenn Jones at Trinosophes

Premiere finger-picker Glenn Jones will be at Trinosophes on Friday, July 19.

They say, “Glenn Jones strikes the perfect balance between traditional vocabulary and his own creative additions to the canon. Although he first gained notice for his work in the experimental rock band Cul De Sac, it's as a solo guitar and banjo player that he has truly come into his own. This is a must-see for fans of John Fahey and Robbie Basho, or anyone who appreciates top-drawer Americana.”

That’s an early show, starting at 7 p.m. Later that same evening, Matt Endahl's Doomsday Philharmonic will perform.

“A massive ensemble performing the piece "Jacob's Ladder" by pianist Matt Endahl. The personnel contains some really amazing player coming from both traditional and contemporary jazz and improvisation backgrounds.”
