I hope that everybody celebrated Record Store Day in style at your nearest store, picking up some bargains and showing support to an industry that really needs it. My nearest is Street Corner Music in Oak Park, and I spent a few bucks diving into its awesome dollar bin. Post a comment if you got some similarly exciting pieces, but here’s what I got:
Rod Stewart’s A Night on the Town, Foreigner’s self-titled album, Bernie Taupin’s Tribe, a compilation called the Crink Chonicles, Don McLean’s Solo, Alison Moyet’s Alf, Alice Cooper’s The Alice Cooper Show, Jane Siberry’s The Walking, Simple Minds’ One Upon A Time, Michael Des Barres’ Somebody Up There Likes Me, Sweet’s Desolation Boulevard, The Band of Holy Joy’s Rosemary Smith (my wife picked that one because of the cover photo), Roxy Music’s Viva!, Return to Forever’s Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy, Quincy Jones’ Smackwater Jack, Herbie Hancock’s Man-Child and Monster, Lionel Richie’s Can’t Slow Down, 5 Star’s Silk & Steel, some Mozart and some Bach.
