On Friday,
Metro Times will host its second annual
Hall of Whiskey tasting event in Detroit's Fisher Building. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., you can sample scotch, bourbons, and whiskeys paired with bites from Royal Oak’s Bistro 82, all while enjoying jazz from Planet D Nonet in the stunning lobby of the Fisher.
But the party doesn't have to end at 10 p.m. Today, we're happy to report that Midtown's Willis Show Bar, the stylish and long-shuttered jazz spot that reopened in April, will host the official Hall of Whiskey afterparty with more live jazz from house band
The Heavy Petters, burlesque from Ada Vice, and drink specials from Woodford Reserve. Shows are at 8:30 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11:30 p.m. Your Hall of Whiskey ticket gets you in for free; cover is $5 otherwise.
Hall of Whiskey begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 at the Fisher Building, 3011 W. Grand Blvd., Detroit. Tickets are $75-$85 and available at
mthallofwhiskey.com; VIP tickets are $100 and include early entry, access to a VIP area, valet parking, plus a tasting glass and access to top-tier pours.
Willis Show Bar is located at 4156 Third St., Detroit. More information is available at
