Without question, one of the most definitive moments in black comedy was when on-the-rise Def Comedy Jam comedian Martin Lawrence scored his own sitcom on Fox in 1992. Martin quickly launched Lawrence into comedic superstardom and now we know him as the star of films like Bad Boys, Big Mama’s House, Blue Streak, and Death at a Funeral. 2018 finds the anticipated sequel Bad Boys for Life in pre-production, as well as Lawrence returning to his stand-up roots with the LIT AF Tour — where he will lead comedians Deray Davis, Rickey Smiley, Deon Cole, Clayton Thomas, and Benji Brown.

Martin Lawrence and the LIT AF Tour will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11 at Little Caesars Arena; 2645 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-471-7000; 313presents.com; Tickets are $45.

Never forget this classic with Steve Zahn.
