If you don’t have a bug-out bag ready to go — let alone don’t know what one is — you, my friend, are ill-prepared for the end of days. But hope is not lost, thanks to the Michigan Science Center and its After Dark series, which puts a playful spin on happy hour with themed activity nights for adults.

This month, After Dark delivers a “Doomsday Prepper” edition complete with a “How to Survive the Apocalypse” discussion panel and a dance-off to Michael Jackson’s zombified hit “Thriller.” You can also treat your radioactive disease with the evening’s signature drink, The Cure.

MiSci After Dark: Doomsday Prepper edition starts at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Michigan Science Center; 5020 John R St., Detroit; 313-577-8400; mi-sci.org; Tickets are $15, 21+ only.
