8 animals looking for a home on 'Empty the Shelter Day', including a three-legged cat named Shaya

Looking to add a furry friend to your family? This Saturday, May 5 is "Empty the Shelters" day and the Bissell Pet Foundation wants to make the process a whole lot easier — and cheaper. Adopt this Saturday and the adoption fee will be waved. Only expect to pay for microchipping (optional) and pet licenses. The Michigan Humane Society has plenty of lovable rescues who would love come home with you. Check back here each week for a new batch of Detroit area rescues.
