There’s nothing like a late-night bite, especially after an evening out at a nightclub or concert. While many restaurants and bars have cut back on their hours in recent years, there are still plenty of spots in metro Detroit with kitchens open after 10 p.m. (Did we miss any good ones? Open 24 hours, this long-standing (est. 1917!) spot in a star-spangled flat-iron building serves typical Detroit-style coney island fare like coney dogs, chili cheese fries, gyros, and burgers.

This long-standing Cass Corridor favorite was sold to the trendy Detroit Optimist Society restaurant group in 2014, which fortunately kept much of the spot’s charm (like the jukebox). A “night owl menu” includes dishes like chicken and waffles, burgers, wings, fish and chips, and more served daily until 12:30 a.m.

Sgt. Pepperoni’s

A simple walk-up counter located in the Majestic Theatre Entertainment complex, Sgt. Pepperoni’s is the perfect spot to stop for a slide or two after a concert at the Majestic Theatre or the Magic Stick. It’s open daily until 2 a.m.

The kitchen for this upscale-ish spot closes at 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, but a limited late night menu is available until midnight those days and until 11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday. The late night menu features items like a cheeseburger, baby gem wedge salad, and Brussels sprouts.

You’ll find a number of these late-night burger joints in metro Detroit that were either former White Tower franchises or inspired by them, serving up cheap, late night eats. The two Telway locations are local favorites and open 24 hours.
