Sheeba serves generations-old, authentic Yemeni cuisine with a slightly modern twist. The dishes are rich with Yemen’s infamous spices with additional sides of spicy dips called sahawiq. Most popular dishes include the lamb haneeth, slow roasted lamb with heavily-seasoned Mandi Basmati rice and fahsah, a traditional dish of shredded lamb and mashed potatoes served bubbling hot in a clay bowl. Sheeba provides customers with a Yemeni cultural experience from the interior design to the complimentary hot towels at the end of a meal for washing up. Although known for its heavy, meat-centered dishes, Sheeba has many vegetarian options.

Taystee’s Burger

This joint is located in a gas station and is notorious for its massive burgers. Taystee’s burgers are unique — they’re heavily layered with nontraditional ingredients. Their famous (and award-winning) Ali’s Notch-Yo-Burger has nacho cheese, American, Swiss, pepper jack, and Doritos nacho cheese flavored tortilla chips. Taystee’s also serves wraps, fries, wings, and hot dogs.

Al Basha features online ordering for delivery or takeout at its two locations in Dearborn and Dearborn heights as well as its Wayne State Campus location. Their chicken shawarma pita and spicy fries are menu favorites. They’re also open until 3 a.m. and prices are low, ranging $4-10.

Located in downtown West Dearborn this fine dining establishment is an intimate destination for some of the best Italian cuisine in the area. Their lunch and dinner menu features chicken, steak, seafood, and vegetarian options, plus new items such as the Honey Firecracker Chicken. Reservations are welcome.

Voted Best Burger of 2017 by Metro Times for Wayne County and Channel Four’s Best Burger of 2016, Miller’s has a reputation among locals for their stripped-down burgers. Don’t come to Miller’s if you’re looking for an Instagram-friendly burger packed with all the bells and whistles. The award-winning burgers are famous for a decidedly back-to-basics style. The only thing the waiter asks when you order a burger is if you want cheese — pickles and onions come separately, but the tender meat and fresh ingredients make the burger.
