Vodka Vodka, Metro Times' annual party celebrating the popular liquor and the companies that produce it, is rolling out its sixth chapter Saturday, Feb. 7. This year, there's a new dimension being added to the event. While there will obviously be boatloads of vodka samples to be had and plenty of food samples to tame your appetite while imbibing, there is a new fashion and hair show component to entertain and dazzle attendees.
Multiple salons will be participating and helping design cutting-edge hair, including Bianchi's Salon, London Calling, and Jessica Phillips. There will also be a "futuristic fashion show" featuring designs by Camilo Pardo, Emily Thornhill, and more. A lingerie show presented by Lover's Lane will heat things up, rounding out the fashion portion. DJ Godfather will be on hand, spinning and providing the appropriate soundtrack for the evening's festivities. Something for everyone? You might say that.
If you're looking to discover your new favorite vodka, this is the place to do it. There will be over 60 vodkas to sample, including bacon vodka, peach vodka, jalapeño vodka, and fruit loops vodka. Brand ambassadors will also be on hand to answer questions. Festivities continue until 11 p.m.
Now that we've appropriately informed you of the details of the event, find a few select vodkas below that you may or may not have heard of that you can expect to find.
American Harvest: American likes small batch stuff. That means it's limited and not just anybody has access to it. American Harvest is also produced from organic American winter wheat.
Elit by Stolichnaya: Stolichnaya took five principles that they believe help to create an ultra-premium liquor and applied them to vodka: Source, filtration, purification, bottling and packaging are all things that matter greatly to Stoli, and Elit proves it.
Prairie Organic Vodka: Three Minnesota family farmers own and work the land that yields the organic corn that becomes Prairie spirits. Why? Because they believe that where a product comes from is just as important as how it's made.
Tito's Handmade Vodka: Texas' first and oldest legal distillery is the site on which Tito's is produced. It's made in small batches, micro-distilled six times by Tito himself.
UV Vodka: Created from Midwestern corn and distilled three times using water drawn from the deep aquifers in Minnesota, you'd be thrilled to see the extensive offering of flavors that UV has.
New Amsterdam: Distilled five times and filtered three times, New Amsterdam provides an extremely pure and smooth vodka with a very velvety and ideal finish.
