In 2013 husband-and-wife team Patrick and Amy Ayoub launched the Detroit Watch Company. For more than a decade they'd planned and plotted, while developing and designing, a way to start a watch-making company.

The watches don't come cheap. Some ring in at almost two grand, while others are around $800.

Tomorrow, a new addition to Detroit Watch Company's collection goes on pre-sale.

The M1-Woodward, a timepiece that will cost you $1,850, is inspired by the road that's currently under construction. Production on the watches will start in late August, according to a press release. Only 75 numbered first editions will be made.

The release states further that the watch is a "Swiss SW500, the twin to the Valjoux 7750 automatic self-winding movement in a three-piece stainless steel case, including other features, powers each timepiece. The Fleur-de-Lys continues to be a mark of distinction for the Detroit Watch Company collection, symbolic to its creators Patrick and Amy Ayoub together with the region’s founding heritage."
