The seventh annual Wright Gala, Kaleidoscope of Human Color took place on Saturday, October 7, 2017.

Not only does the Charles H. Wright Museum hold the world’s largest permanent exhibit focused on African-American history and culture, but it is also a revolving door of diverse programming.

For its eighth annual Wright Gala, the museum is upping the ante based on its current exhibit, “Oh, You Fancy!” An exclusive celebration of African-Americans’ impact on the hair and fashion industry and how these contributions have widened the conversation regarding political and social consciousness and global trendsetting, this year’s gala will offer hors-d'oeuvres, dinner, and auctions. “The Runway” after-party will follow the gala festivities with music spun by DJ Slowpoke and DJ D-Nice.

Fashion Night at the Wright will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Charles H. Wright Museum; 315 E. Warren Ave., Detroit; thewright.org; Tickets start at $300.
