Seeing double...triple?
Russell A. Taylor is better known by his moniker Satori Circus — the chalk-faced cabaret performer who, for the better part of three decades, has both seduced and confounded audiences.

Taylor is both the creative director and main performer in what can only be described as performance art meets rock opera. By fusing music with pantomime, film-inspired elements, spoken word, slapstick, and a veil of hyper-subversive sexuality, Satori Circus has the freak flag on lock. These back-to-back, career-spanning performances will include special guests as well as vignettes from his most recent piece, Stroke.

Satori Circus' 30th Anniversary performances will take place at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28 and Saturday, Sept. 29, performances promptly begin at 9:30 p.m. at Tangent Gallery; 715 E. Milwaukee Ave., Detroit; 313-873-2955; tangentgallery.com; Tickets are $15-$20.
