Sandra Bullock's husband dies — or does he? — and she goes batshit crazy trying to figure it all out. Like Groundhog Day for PTSD sufferers, Premonition is overlong, overcooked and underinformed by logic as Bullock wakes up one day and her husband's dead, while the next, it's all OK. The back-and-forth pinging becomes tiresome and obnoxious by the film's midpoint, as does the portentous imagery that's supposed to foreshadow ... something. The prominent product placement of a life insurance company was certainly not accidental, but its clumsy insertion is indicative of Premonition's sloppiness. The scene in front of the funeral home where Bullock goes over the edge is inappropriately hilarious.
