Detroit's "Oldest Party" bar made a surprise appearance over the weekend on a listical that surprisingly wasn't from Thrillist.
The Washington Post compiled a list of America's most authentic dive bars and our beloved Nancy Whiskey made the list.
So what qualifications does a bar need to have to be considered an authentic dive bar? For one, no craft cocktails, a trend that has been on the rise for the past couple years, and one that we've seen take bloom in Detroit.
Other qualifications include regulars, cheap drinks, and a little bit of history for good measure. Considering that Nancy Whiskey opened in 1902, we'd say it has that criteria checked off.
