Guitarist-vocalist Danny Kroha don’t need no stinkin’ introduction. If you aren’t aware of the Gories and the Demolition Doll Rods (Motor City rock ’n’ roll that resurrected the Hastings Street primal) you’ve been sucking in too much manhole steam.

The spindly Kroha and his lovely girlfriend (and Doll Rods drummer) Tia Fletcher left their Cass Corridor apartments last year for a beautiful home in southwest Detroit (which they rent from sculptor and former Bogue drummer Matt Blake).

The house, built in 1915, sees plenty of space for the couple to make, uh, beautiful music together — from Fletcher’s fashion designing and her run-around dog Seaweed to the pair’s classic cars and all the folk art that Kroha has “rescued” from Detroit streets and structures over the years. “I love old houses,” Kroha says, “and this has all oak woodwork. They’ll never be able to build houses like this again.”

See Kroha in the Ramrods on Thursday, Aug. 16 at Magic Stick, 4120 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-833-9700.
