Moodymann — the iconic Detroit DJ-producer who, thanks to his frequent refusal to give interviews, remains somewhat of an enigma — has begun to regularly share his political views with the world. And, wouldn't you know it, Moodymann is right.
Our window into the mind of Kenny Dixon Jr. is his Instagram, which features quite a bit of memeage on the state of the country. Though Dixon set up the account more than two years ago, it was only recently that he stopped deleting his posts. In his early days of IG use, Dixon would keep each image up for no more than a couple of days — offering exciting bursts of ephemeral content to his thousands of followers.
Now, with 59 images featured on Dixon's grid, he has revealed himself as more than a brilliant artist. Dixon appears to also have a keen eye for bullshit, namely the hypocrisy that defines today's political discourse. Recently, he's commented on the stupidly polarizing Nike campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick, the response (or lack of response) to widespread child sex abuse by priests in the Catholic church, and criminal sentencing guidelines that often deal disproportionate consequences to black men.
Below, we've compiled a sampling of some of Dixon's most fire #content. You can follow him on IG at @moodymann313.
