Michigan native blows judges away during 'American Idol' audition

Altas Township resident Genavieve Linkowski auditioned for the rebooted American Idol last night and the 19-year-old blew judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie out of the water.

Richie compared Linkowski to a young Celine Dion, later tweeting to the iconic singer to check her out.

Luke Bryan repeatedly commented that Linkowski had "magic" in her voice, noting she has a ton of raw talent.

Katy Perry, however, seemed less than thrilled by the young ingénue, but gave her a pass since she consented to be "molded" and coached.

All three judges gave Linkowkis a "yes," and thus she advances to the next round of auditions.

Linkowski, a self-described homeschool teacher, helps her parents teach and care for her nine younger siblings.
