It’s hot out. And us Michiganders, we might be used to humid summers, but we are not used to the downright tropical weather we’ve been experiencing of late. What’s the best way to beat the heat? Sit inside, in the dark, with the air conditioning blasting. Where’s the best place to do that? In a movie theater.

Even better if you’re catching a cult classic like Tim Burton’s Batman starring Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, and Kim Basinger. Oh, and it’s a midnight screening that plays on Friday and Saturday. You’re welcome.

Movie screens at midnight; 118 N. Main St., Royal Oak; 248-542-5198; landmarktheatre.com/detroit; tickets are $7
