Los Angeles dance team Diavolo put 'Architecture in Motion' at Detroit's Music Hall
George Simian
A great piece of inspirational wall art from TJ Maxx once said “dance like no one is watching” — this does not apply, however, to the team of dancers of Diavolo. “Architecture in Motion” is the latest from the Los Angeles-based dance studio led by director Jacques Heim. Diavolo has been flipping, leaping, and channeling emotions into physical displays of catharsis for more than 25 years (including a stint on season 12 of America’s Got Talent).

In conjunction with carefully designed choreography and acrobatics, the dancers of Diavolo interact with large, shifting architectural structures like ramps, wheels, globes, and pyramids to make for an experience that is otherworldly.

Diavolo performance begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Music Hall; 350 Madison St., Detroit; 313-877-8500; musichall.org; Tickets are $30+.
