This is unacceptable. You should be proud to be an American. Especially on 9/11 when we should support each other. https://t.co/qFozwaH9Bu

Really, Kate Upton? You don't think these men are proud to be Americans? We think you missed the point of this protest.
In case you haven't noticed, you are a rich white woman, Kate. You are oozing with privilege. Last time we checked, you don't know what it is like to be a black person living in America.
In her Instagram post, Upton wrote, "Recent history has shown that it is a place where anyone no matter what race or gender has the potential to become President of the United States." You know what else history shows us, Kate? That a black person can be killed by a police officer for selling CDs or lose cigarettes. Where is your "outrage" over that?
She also rambles on about "coming together" and using "the podium they have, stand up for their beliefs, and make America a better place." Are you that blind? Do you not see that that is the point of this protest? It's people like you who are holding America back from being a better place and "coming together" because you can't get over your own feelings and accept the fact that Black Lives Matter is about equality, not about one race of people being better than the others. Just because you're too fragile to understand the bigger picture here doesn't mean that you are correct in any shape or form.
And I'm glad you think that we are all "truly blessed." Yes, we all don't live in a third world country, but this freedom that you speak of does not apply to the slain men and woman who were victimized over the color of their skin.
Oh, and let me remind everyone that the only reason why Kate Upton is so famous and rich is because she did the "Cat Daddy" in a video that propelled her into the spotlight. A dance that she took from black culture and used it as her own to gain attention and fame. White privilege at its finest, folks.
You know what you should really be upset about, Kate? The fact that your uncle, Fred Upton (House - R MI) voted against the Zadorga Act for 9/11 Responders' Compensation and Health Care 3 times! That seems more "horrific" to me than a peaceful protest, right?
Obviously, Twitter dragged Upton through the coals and called her out for being so blind about something that has nothing to do with her.
Kate Upton Translated - "Please protest at a time when I can best ignore your oppression. Thanks."

@KateUpton You're a white, blonde hair, blue-eyed white woman, so you don't get to tell black ppl how to protest their own oppression.

@KateUpton also, do you see the irony here behind you, a white person demanding when black people exercise their right to protest?

I checked Kate Upton's twitter feed, not one word of outrage about the senseless police killings of unarmed Black people......

I'm not entirely sure how a woman who is only really known for her subpar acting and video game commercials became the voice of when you should or should not protest, but one thing is clear: protesting during the National Anthem about an absolutely real issue during an NFL game on 9/11 is probably the most American thing you can do.
