As one of the few artists performing Blues in Isreal, American-Israeli singer Lazer Pinchas Bluman (better known as Lazer Lloyd) is in a territory all his own. For more than 35 years, Lloyd has peddled his thoughtful fusion of Jewish psychedelic folk (think a gritty Stevie Ray Vaughn and James McMurtry hybrid). Known for his uplifting storytelling, Lloyd’s guitar skills are just as notable as his unique categorization as he considers his tuning a cross of Mississippi and Moroccan. If you like music that challenges genre and has a totally positive message, Lazer Lloyd is your dude.
Lazer Lloyd will perform on Saturday, Dec. 23 at Otus Supply; Doors at 8 p.m.; 345 E. Nine Mile, Ferndale; 248-291-6160; otussupply.com; Tickets start at $10.
