For several years InkAddict apparel has only been available online. The company's screenprinted T-shirts, tanks, and hoodies were made locally (first in a basement, then in Sterling Heights, and later in Ferndale), but customers still had to wait for a box to arrive on their doorstep to enjoy their wares. For folks who love the tattoo-celebrating brand's colorful clothing, trendy designs, and general aesthetic, that was a bummer.

That isn't true any longer. After a well-attended grand-opening party, InkAddict officially opened their flagship retail location for normal business hours last Friday morning in the same Woodward Avenue building where all their goods are made.

The space, located next door to Metro Parent's offices, is sparse and modern. The white walls are decorated with pieces from local artists, which co-owner Nathan Martin says are up for sale. The colorful and cartoonish paintings keep the space from looking too sparse and add another interesting element to their stock. In a corner of the space, InkAddict's goods are fully stocked. A table holds all their men's and women's tees and tanks, along with their signature flat-brim baseball caps. Racks to the side hold hoodies and sweatshirts. Don't see your size? They've got more stuff in the back. They can also screenprint something on the spot.

Martin says aside from InkAddict apparel and local art, they will also regularly feature a guest tattoo artist who will tattoo inside the store. Parry Chotipradit is the shop's next artist. He'll be in-store May 18-20. To book an appointment with him, email parrychotipradit@yahoo.com.
