Sometime after the airing of the Mad Men, the AMC series centered around 1960s advertising executives, there was a seismic spike in mid-century modern aesthetic. But Don Draper and company could not have seduced us with their sleek style if not for the groundbreaking contributions of married couple Charles and Ray Eames.

The Henry Ford Museum will explore the minds of the influential couple with the U.S premiere of "The World of Charles and Ray Eames" which opens Saturday, May 5 and will be on display until Monday, Sept. 3.

You've probably heard of the "Eames chair" but even more than interior design, Eames' innovative output inspired architecture, photography, and industrial design and manufacturing. Composed of hundreds of works, the exhibit will venture through the Eames Office and will offer a striking visual timeline of how two people came to shape postwar modernism and the design world as we know it today.

The World of Charles and Ray Eames will be on display at the Henry Ford Musem starting Saturday, May 5 through September, 3; 20900 Oakwood Blvd., Dearborn; 313-982-6001; thehenryford.org; Tickets are $17.25 for children 5-11, $23 for general admission, and $21 for seniors (62+), children 4 and under are free.
