The folks over at Triple Investment Group are seeking the public's help in redesigning the Pontiac Silverdome, which has sat dormant and shuttered in Detroit's northern suburb for years.

The gist of the Silverdome International Design Competition is this: Architects, planners, engineers, or anyone who knows a thing or two about building design can submit a rendering for a chance to re-purpose the historic building, and, oh, win some cash money.

$3000 will go to the winner, $1000 to the runner-up, and $500 to the third place participant.

The competition website has the details:

The participants should take into consideration the advances in technology, the exploration of sustainable systems, and the establishment of new urban and architectural methods to address economic, social, and cultural problems affecting the contemporary city including the scarcity of natural resources and infrastructure and the exponential increase of inhabitants, pollution, economic division, and unplanned urban sprawl. The competition hopes to inspire ideas for a public and private space and the role of the individual and the collective in the creation of a dynamic and adaptive community.

The submission deadline is April 12, so check out this list of requirements, and submit today.
