The words “Unagi,” “pivot,” and “we were on a break,” are cemented in the annals of pop culture thanks to a little show called Friends.

Fifteen years later and everyone’s favorite gaggle of besties is back and this time with music. The off-Broadway misadventure FRIENDS! The Musical Parody delivers a fast-paced, music-filled romp through the series’ most iconic moments, though reimagined and served with a fresh dose of self-awareness. Take the musical’s "The One Where We Make A Million Dollars an Episode," for example, because yes — Jennifer Aniston and company made a cool $1 million per episode in the final seasons. Or “495 Grove Street,” a little number that begs the audience to “suspend disbelief” when taking into account Monica’s spacious and totally unaffordable apartment. How the hell did six randoms manage to reserve a couch in a bustling New York coffee shop every day for 10 years, anyway?

FRIENDS! The Musical Parody performances begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6 through Feb. 10 at City Theatre; 2301 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-471-3200; 313presents.com; Tickets are $30.
