As we reported in a story earlier this month, Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program has moved from the modest digs it once had on St. Aubin Street into a 27,500-square-foot former bookbinding building that now houses two boxing rings, a training facility, computer lab, study rooms, and executive offices. The official ribbon-cutting takes place tomorrow, 9-11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, where staff, supporters, and Detroit dignitaries will be on hand. It should be a great opportunity to see how the partnership between Carlos "Coach Khali" Sweeney and Jessica Hauser has paid off. Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program's new headquarters are at 6445 E.
