Kwanzaa, which is celebrated from Dec. 26 thru Jan. 1, honors the African culture and its impact on the world. Black Scroll Network History and Tours historian and educator Jamon Jordan will lead a tour of the royal and dynastic artifacts in the ancient Egyptian and African exhibits at the DIA. Maybe you’re curious as to how African culture and history has influenced the world, or perhaps you want to know more about the origins of Kwanzaa — this tour will satisfy curiosity and celebration all in one.

The Royal African Kwanzaa tour takes place on Tuesday, Dec. 26 at noon; 5200 Woodward Ave., Detroit; dia.org; email BlackScrollNetwork@gmail.com for more information; 313-833-7900; Tickets start at $20 for adults, $15 for children ages 9-12, and children 8 years and younger are free.
