Jurassic World, the fourth installment in the popular film series, quickly becoming a record-breaking box office success since opening last month. It could be that audiences enjoyed the movie as a somewhat self-reflexive metaphor for corporate greed. Perhaps the film's success was carried solely by Chris Pratt's hunk factor. Most likely, it could be that watching giant dinosaurs blow stuff up will never, ever get old.

Now is a good time as ever to revisit Steven Spielberg's original 1993 film, and so Detroit's historic Redford Theatre is hosting screenings this weekend. Showtimes are 8 p.m. on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11, with a 2 p.m. Saturday matinee. The Redford Theatre is located at 17360 Lahser Rd., Detroit. More information is available at the theater's website or by calling 313-537-2560. Tickets are $5.
