With double the dates of last year's film festival, over 70 films, and more venues, screenings, and public events than ever before, Cinetopia International Film Festival is set to wow fans.

On June 5 the festival will commence with a free outdoor screening on the north lawn of the Detroit Institute of Arts. Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet, based on Gibran's popular volume of poetry, is also part of the Arab American National Museum's Arab Film Festival. That evening will begin with live jazz at 7 p.m., followed by the screening at 9:30 p.m.

The festival will also feature the second edition of Detroit Voices, a short film competition for Michigan-basd filmmakers. The winners will have their films shown at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor during the festival.

Festival, movie, and student passes are now available for purchase. Festival passes include unlimited film screenings, priority admission, opening night parties, and more and are $150. Movie passes include unlimited screenings and priority admission and are $100 until May 8 and $125 after. Student passes include unlimited screenings and are $50. Individual films are $12 for the general public, $9 for DIA, DFT, Wright Museum, Arab American Museum, and Michigan Theater members and go on sale for the general public on May 22.
