“How the fuck did they do that?” says pretty much everyone who has ever seen British sensation the Champions of Magic, which is making its Detroit debut. But don’t expect rabbit hat-pulling, cheap sleight-of-hand card tricks, or flimsy trapdoor bullshit here.

Made up of five world-class illusionists, the magicians of Champions of Magic are true mind-benders known for suspending belief with their dizzying displays of mind-reading, close-up tricks, and large-scale illusions. Though the Champions of Magic stage tour is hailed as a family show, remember: You’re never too old to believe in magic. But you are too old for that “pull my finger” schtick, so just stop.

Champions of Magic performances start at 8 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Fox Theatre; 2211 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-471-3200; 313presents.com; Tickets start at $25.
