The word “value” can mean many different things to many different people. Detroit artist Cristin Richard explores the variants of its meaning in what is being described as a “performative installation” within the Detroit Club’s historic Presidential Ballroom. Richard, who gained recognition for her bold conversation on consumerism with 2012’s Leftovers, which found the artist crafting a dress from discarded meat casings, will continue her exploration of Native American culture and the body as a vessel with her latest, Point of Return.

Performance begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 22 at The Detroit Club; 712 Cass Ave., Detroit; eventbrite.com; Admission is a suggested $10 donation.
