Each year, just as the spring season begins, the Dance for Mother Earth Powwow welcomes the return of abundant sunshine as well as hundreds of tribe and community members to Ann Arbor. Founded in 1972 by the University of Michigan Native American Student Association (NASA), the powwow is now a two-day celebration of Native American culture. The event features traditional music, dancing, drumming, and garb as well as contests, storytelling, and vendors.

The Dance for Mother Earth Powwow begins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31 at the Skyline High School; 2552 N. Maple Rd., Ann Arbor; powwow.umich.edu; Admission is $10.
