Three days, 21 bands, and one hell of a way to give 2017 the kiss off. In its 12th year, Mittenfest has come a long way. Not only a fundraising event for 826michigan — a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Ypsilanti students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills — Mittenfest also serves as Michigan’s premier winter musical showcase. This year, Minihorse, Best Exes, Anna Burch, Libby Decamp, and Matthew Milia are among the 21 acts to perform. For the Sunday night patrons, expect a champagne toast at midnight, and tunes from DJ Eric Allen will move and groove you into the new year.

Mittenfest takes place at Bona Sera Cafe Friday, Dec. 29 through Sunday, Dec. 31.; 200 W. Michigan Ave., Ypsilanti; 734-340-6335; mittenfest.org; Tickets are available for a $10 donation per night.
