Higher Ground will take place on Friday, June 24 at Eastern Market Shed 3 beginning at 6 p.m. and running until 10 p.m. Higher Ground will focus on showcasing the metro area medicinal marijuana culture and hydroponics businesses as well as a live panel discussion moderated by Metro Times News Editor Curt Guyette.
Panel topics covered will range from culture to legality issues from law enforcement to the politics of pot. The panel will look at the people involved, the activists, the patients, the entrepreneurs, the critics and more.
Cover charge is $5. A portion of the proceeds and beverage sales will benefit Higher Ground, a local HIV/Aids Awareness Group. Founded in 2002, Higher Ground's mission is to empower people living with HIV/AIDS by providing holistic support that develops and maintains the body, mind, spirit, and dignity of the whole person.
