What is your current state of mind?

What do you mean?

What is your idea of good fashion sense?

Knowing the rules and knowing how to break them properly.

When did you begin designing clothing?

Technically, when I was in high school. My mom is an incredible seamstress and would make some of the stuff I came up with. However, the real designing didn't happen until I started to go to design school 12 years ago.

What is the trait you have that has helped you the most as a designer?

My creativity mixed with my sense of style.

How do you characterize your style sense in three words?

Less is more.

What makes for a beautiful model?

A long, proportionate body, good skin, good moves and a great walk.

What trend do you dislike the most?

Nude-colored nylons and open-toed shoes in the middle of winter. Bad! Bad! Bad!

Which talent do you most wish you had?

Common sense.

What is your most treasured possession?

Well, if people could be possessions, I would say my daughter, Elena.

Who are your heroes, design-wise or otherwise?

My friends and family members, some of whom are incredible designers.

Where do you draw inspiration from, outside the world of clothing?

Wherever you can find great art (film, poetry, museums, music and even nature).

What is the most marked characteristic of your personality?

My spontaneity.

What do you dislike most about your appearance?

I lack length in my body and feel like everything needs to be stretched out — especially my neck.
