This photographer captured a deserted downtown Detroit due to the coronavirus — let's take a look

On Saturday, March 21, days after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer ordered all restaurants, bars, and other public establishments to close to curb the spread of the coronavirus, Colin McConnell, a children's author, illustrator, and photographer, captured an eerie sight: a virtually empty downtown Detroit. Normally a hub for weekend dining, shopping, concerts, and other events, downtown Detroit is vacant in McConnell's photos, save for some parked cars.
