Two days of tension surrounding white supremacist Richard Spencer’s visit to Michigan erupted in violence Monday outside of his planned speech at Michigan State University, where throngs of anti-fascist protesters stood ready to block Spencer’s supporters from attending the event.
Punching and shoving broke out when a tight line of members of a neo-Nazi group were forced to bypass the crowd of several hundred protesters as they marched toward the agricultural pavilion where Spencer was to take the floor. Find our story here.
