Detroit has a lot of great tribute bands, and two of their finest played Friday night at the Magic Bag with Depeche Mode tribute band Music From the Masses and Siouxsie and the Banshees tribute band Playground Twist. Music from the Masses is a side project of the Mega 80’s that wanted to explore more of their Depeche Mode love, and for those that want a harder edge, they threw in some Nine In Nails for good measure. Playground Twist, featuring members from some of the best local bands (Siamese, Kate Hinote Trio, etc.) opened with a thrilling set of Siouxsie and the Banshee covers.
