After getting some much-needed updates, a Kalamazoo house designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright has just hit the market again — and at $790,000, the four-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,671-square-foot home is reportedly the lowest-priced Wright-designed one on the market right now, according to realtor.com.
Located at 2662 Taliesin Dr. and built in 1951, the ranch-style building is known as the “McCartney House” and is one of Wright’s “Usonian Homes,” which use native materials, natural light, radiant-heat concrete flooring, and built-in furnishings and shelving.
The sellers purchased the home in 2021 for $425,000 and spent two years updating it, including adding air conditioning, custom carpentry, and replacing the doors that lead to the patio. According to realtor.com, the home could still use some additional work, including staining the concrete blocks, replacing windows, and updating one of the bathrooms, which would significantly increase its value.
