36 houses in Detroit that the city has deemed 'unlikely to be blighted'

Since 2014, Detroit has spent approximately $240M demolishing abandoned houses. The money is running out, and when all is said and done, the city may not be in much better shape than when the program began.

Over several months, we surveyed dozens of houses in Detroit neighborhoods that were deemed by the city as "unlikely to be blighted." What we found, as you'll see in this gallery, tells a much different story.
