These bars are super low-key, and are criminally underrated. Sometimes they are extremely packed and sometimes there is no one there and that is what we love about them.
The Painted Lady
2930 Jacob St, Hamtramck
(313)-874-2991
This Hamtramck dive is the perfect place to sit back and unload after a long day at the office. Plus, it has this vibe where you can acknowledge your fellow bar regular, but not necessarily have to engage in a conversation.

Stonehouse Bar
19803 Ralston St, Highland Park
(313)-689-6906
Known as Michigans oldest operating bar, Stonehouse is a great dive bar to escape the trendy city bars and have a few beers to yourself. Friendly bartenders and cheap drinks dont make it a bad place, either.

Temple Bar
2906 Cass Ave, Detroit
(313)-832-2822
Temple Bar is a great low-key place to grab a beer (just make sure youre not there for their giant dance party Haute to Death) and contemplate life. Just make sure you head there soon! Once that new arena is finished, who knows that will happen to Temple Bar.
