A new cafe is planned to open this winter adjacent to the forthcoming Grey Ghost Detroit restaurant in Midtown.
The spot, to be called New Order Coffee Roasters, will feature on-site roasting in nano-batches and guests will be able to choose their brewing method. Customers will also be able customize their own personal roasting for takeaway beans.
The 2,000-square-foot space is to be run by Elizabeth Rose, who brought the Roasting Plant to Campus Martius in 2013. Heading the program will be Patrick Seeney, while Manhattan transplant, Tyler Martin, will oversee service and operations.
A news release announcing the new cafe says design details and an opening date will be available in the coming months. This latest development comes as the Grey Ghost eatery is prepping to open this summer.
New Order Coffee will be at 3100 Woodward Ave. in the Crystal Loft Building, while Grey Ghost is to open around the corner at 47 E. Watson.
