International jazz recording artist Phil Denny will headline the grand opening of metro Detroit’s newest upscale jazz venue, Jazz Underground, at 8 p.m. Friday, May 6 at 6880 E. 12 Mile in Warren. The event will be hosted by comedian Mike Bonner.

The Jazz Underground has comfortable seating, concert sound, VIP sections, a cocktail bar, and an intimate atmosphere that will host some of the world’s finest local and international artists.

The venue is a welcome addition to our already thriving local jazz community — with Detroit’s Berts, Bakers, Cliff Bells, and Trinosophes, as well as the upscale Dirty Dog Jazz Café in Grosse Pointe Farms.
