Catch a glimpse of Townhouse Detroit during soft opening this week

Townhouse Detroit, the highly-anticipated second installment of the popular Birmingham dining and drinking spot, is taking reservations this week for its soft opening and is on track to open next week. This sprawling space downtown features a glass-enclosed, outdoor "house," making patio seating available year-round. The Freep reported earlier this month that the 314-seat restaurant, located in the One Detroit Center at Woodward and Congress, features several bars - including a whiskey lounge and seafood raw bar, as well as an open kitchen, fire pit and lounge seating and pear-shaped European Hornbeam trees in planters.

Reservations can be made via opentable.com. The restaurant will open for lunch, dinner and brunch from the start, a departure from other establishments, which have staggered their meal services in stages. In addition to the sprawling dining space, Townhouse Detroit will feature a U-shaped bar that seats about two dozen, the Freep reported.
