Electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk announced a 12-date tour on Monday, including an Oct. 5 gig in Detroit at the Masonic Temple Theatre. The date is part of Kraftwerk's "3D Concert" tour, which features visuals enabled by 3D glasses provided for the audience to wear. Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
It's the first time Kraftwerk have performed in Detroit in more than 10 years, last appearing for a June 2005 show at the former State Theatre. The German group is widely cited as a huge influence on Detroit techno thanks to heavy rotation by trendsetting radio DJ the Electrifying' Mojo.
