When we interviewed the Detroit Bus Company's Andy Didorosi late last summer, he sent us home with a stack of brochures he made to promote his mass transit venture. Titled "We're Not Sorry — Detroit and You: An Informative Guide," the brochures cheekily counter popular depictions of Detroit as a lawless, wild dog-ridden food desert.
We've been passing them around the office, but we had to ask Didorosi if we could share them with our readers as well, to which he graciously obliged. Didorosi says they printed more than 5,000 of these brochures, distributing them at coffee shops, bars, and restaurants throughout metro Detroit. The illustrations were drawn by longtime MT contributor Sean Bieri, based on a thread on designer Bethany Shorb's Facebook. (Copyright The Detroit Bus Company L3C, duh.)
